Importance of Public Participation in the LEIS

The LEIS process consisted of several steps intended to encourage public input to inform the decision-making process. Information gathered during the LEIS process helped facilitate an understanding of the public’s perceptions, refined the project – including potential alternatives, and informed the analysis of environmental impacts. This website provides information about the process, updates about the project, and the ways in which the public participated in the LEIS process. The Army values the public’s ideas and comments.
